I have the VBM5000 base/smart hub and 2xUltra cameras purchased about three years ago. Last year I added Pro4 without issues.

This week I added another 2 cameras, Ultra2. They set up nicely and are connected to the base unit. However they do not trigger at all either together, independently or with all of the other cameras.

They are located at the back of the property about 40 meters from the base station. I do not subscribe to any plan. My original 3 cameras all record to a Micro SD card without issue - I.e. when triggered.

I did note that when I first added the battery to set these units up, there was an audible ‘click’ - like something inside setting and then another ‘click’ - like it was unsettling or going back to the original state???  I don’t recall this happening with the other cameras but it may just be part of the initialisation of the device??  It happens each time I replace the battery.

I have retried the setup about 5 times, deleted and reinstalled the app, deleted and reinstalled the cameras etc etc. all firmware/software has been updated. The other three cameras continue to work perfectly. I just can’t get these units to trigger even standing and moving around directly in front of them.

I am grateful for any help.

Can you livestream the new cameras?

I suggest swapping one of the new cameras with one of the older ones, and see if the problem moves with the camera or stays with the location.

Hi Stephen, thanks for your help.
Yes, live streaming works fine. I tried relocating as you suggested. No luck.
However after having to reinstall one of my older cameras ( I took the battery out as part of this process and had lost comms with the unit, had to reboot/install it) I discovered that the cameras do make the click sound. This lead me to try something else.  By turning each new unit off on the app and the turning back on they now work fine.

I did note there was some software updates when installing so perhaps it was a matter of initialising them or ? Having said that, I did delete and reinstall both units several times after the software update.

Short answer is they are now working fine but I do hope the above info may help someone else

thanks again
