It means the camera requires a smarthub/base station - for example the VMB5000.
It cannot connect to your home wifi, only to the base.

so the base station provide its own wifi, 2.4 or 5 and is it secure. Can you set the security to ie WPA-2?

The WiFi is secure, and the system is closed - there are no exposed settings, and you will not be able to join the base station network from your other devices.
The VMB5000 uses dual-band (both 2.4 and 5), and the Ultra 2 can use either. Again, there are no settings.
