Ultra 2 takes forever to kick on. Takes a solid 4-5 secs to actually wake up and capture image.

I recently upgraded from my Pro 2 cameras with the Ultra 2s. I’ve noticed that even when an object would enter the frame well within the cameras “2/3rds” for motion detection it takes a solid 4-5 seconds for the camera to actually wake up and capture the image which if the object is moving fast enough renders the camera essentially useless.

In example - if you were jogging you could make it from my driveway to the side of my house before the camera would pick you up. Seems a bit less than desirable for a $500 camera.

Has anyone else experienced this or figured out why it happens?

Motion is mostly side to side.

SOLVED: purchased an Arlo outdoor charging cable and signed up for CVR. Camera works beautifully now. Wish I didn’t have to pay $9/mo for this solution but oh well...

What's the sensitivity setting in your modes and rules? Have you increased it?

Sensitivity is set to 100. After watching videos comparing Nest IQ Outdoor cameras to Arlo, I'm going to blame it on the fact that Arlo has to "wake up" to capture the recording unless you want to pay for continuous recording.

Positioning of the camera also comes into play. Is motion mostly side to side or directly at the camera? PIR sensors detect best with side to side motion.
