I picked up an Ultra 2 on eBay to replace an Ultra that was dropped. Just received it today, and there are two issues:
1. The mount will NOT come off. I have tried twisting, pliers, cursing... And nothing worked.
2. I don't see the release button on the case bottom to press in order to change the battery. There is a metal screw of some sort where the white push button should be.
Obviously, I can't be specific about the model version etc, because I can't get the darned camera out of its housing.
I have attached pictures. Does anyone have any thoughts?

You purchased a camera that has the integrated "total security mount".
There should be a security key included in the packaging - if for some reason the seller didn't include it, you can use a 2 mm hex wrench.
Also, there is an install guide that shows how to release the camera from the mount:

Thank you so much for this info. Can I assume that I can remove the camera from this housing and place it in a standard housing?

Yes. If you have the standard size battery, then you'd get this:
Or upgrade to the XL battery if you like:
Note the XL requires the screw mounts, it's not compatible with the magnetic ones.
