Probleme perturbation wifi home base

Bonjour,

J'ai acheté un 2 Arlo Ultra 2 XL avec la base et j'aimerais pouvoir connecter les Caméra sans la base. 

Tous les jour la base change de Chanel wifi pour se configurer avec exactement le même Chanel que mon kiwi domestique. Ca commence à bien faire. 

J'aimerais soit me faire remboursé pour passer à des Arlo essential soit faire une correction pour sélectionner le Chanel wifi de la base.

Ce n'est plus possible.

Is this causing problems with recording (or with your home wifi performance).  Usually it doesn't.

It’s causing problem to my home WiFi 😞 . That decrease my WiFi performance.

Are you saying that your wifi performance gets better when you turn the smarthub off?

Yes, the base changes wifi to the same Chanel wifi as my home. I'd really like to be able to control its behavior or just create a wifi with the same Ssid and password. Or get my money back. I'm very disappointed that the ultra 2 only connects to the base. I prefer the essentials. To go further, when the base changes Chanel, it sometimes disconnects the essentials connected to my wifi.

This obviously has been requested countless times and so it's unlikely to be implemented. Your option: either to live with it or to get rid of this system and get something else.

That password is unavailable to the user. Really: no matter what you try, you won't be able to change channels. I had some luck by connecting my base station to a powerline adapter like Devolo here in Europe, whereas others have suggested to move the base station away from the router and to use a WiFi extender set to a different channel in-between. However, while this may have a positive outcome for some, I'd not consider it to be a good solution, as it purely depends on how strong the WiFi signal is of that WiFi extender; with some models, it could be a gamble, and effectively you'd be introducing another WiFi signal near your router and base station, to a potentially already congested environment. So, it kind of defeats the purpose, even though you can talk different channels. But, heyho, if this is going to work for you, then why not. Your other solution is to go with a system that allows more user intervention.

There isn't a lot of traffic on the base wifi unless you are using CVR.  So when there is a problem, it is usually either

1. interference (because the base is too close to the router),
2. or due to frequent channel changes. 

This second issue can happen when the router switches channels to avoid the base wifi - and then the base promptly undoes that by switching channels to follow the base.

How close is the base to the router?  Sometimes moving it further away can eliminate interference.  Moving it as far as the cable can reach is far enough.  

If the issue is the ever-changing channel changes (and not actually interference) then manually setting the channels in the router will help.  

One hack some folks have used is to get a cheap WiFi extender, and put that next to the base (selecting a different channel than the one the main router uses).  The base should then lock onto the extender channel, since it will be stronger than the router's wifi.

Understood.   FWIW, I agree that would be useful (and have said that in previous posts on this topic). 

But as @Edinburgh_lad1 points out, this has been requested for many years now - so unfortunately I don't think Arlo is likely to do it.
