Why is it that I paid a lot of money for the ultra 2 setup and the lag time makes the cameras useless! With Apple HomeKit, my $30 eufy cameras stream immediately and the arlos take about 20 seconds to start! Finding more and more reasons to trash this system! No point of having an unusable high quality camera that don’t work when ya need it!

Does this occur when live streaming in the Arlo app as well, or only when initiating a live stream through the HomeKit app?

With Arlo, you are streaming from the cloud, regardless of how you have set your system up. Even if it is storing locally, when you live stream you are contacting Arlo's server and streaming from there. Not the most efficient but that is the way they do it. Arlo claims that they do it that way to prevent any sort of man in the middle issues. In other words, you have to be an authorized user of your online cloud account to access any of your encrypted video.

This happens on either homekit or the app. I think homekit may even be faster.
