How to best capture a license plate number at night?

We have lots of mailbox thieves but they mainly come at night.

Ive installed 2 Ultra 2 cameras in the mailbox itself but they only seem

capable to capture a license plate number durning the day.

Any tips?

The reflectance of the plates make it very difficult to get nighttime shots. I don't know that you can achieve this with the camera lighting - you may need a general overall lighting solution that wouldn't shine as brightly on the car. That may also deter folks.
