Cannot do LIVE recording?

I must have missed this button but .... how do you start LIVE recording for a camera, from the app?  The camera is NOT included in the current mode.  I can manually watch LIVE from DEVICES page, but dunno how to start LIVE recording.

 

(I am not talking about motion/sound-triggered recording)

 

My setup:

  • 3x Ultra 2 cameras
  • 1x SmartHUB VMB5000
  • NO subscription (ie local storage)

Unless you have a subscription or an old camera like Arlo HD, you can't.

What a surprise but no bad news is a surprise to me any more.  I'll just tell ANYONE to 100% avoid this brand called ARLO.

FYI, the full set of limitations with local storage are

  • recordings only available in the app (not the browser)
  • recordings only available from the primary account (not "friend" accounts)
  • no ability to make manual recordings or take snapshots
  • no thumbnails, so all recordings need to be downloaded to your phone before you see anything
  • remote access requires router setting changes that many find difficult, and which do not work with some internet service providers.

Of course there are other subscription features (activity zones, etc).
