Can't add a friend to Ultra 2 as he gets "incorrect email" message when responding to the invitation

I've an Ultra 2 and am attempting to add a friend. He gets an "incorrect email" notice when he tries to accept the invitation. He has an arlo account for his home cameras - maybe this has something to do with the inability to accept the invite?

What device are they using to accept the invite, mobile or pc?
Try using the pc to access the email invite link to open a web browser and login to accept the invite. The shared camera should appear next time they login to the app.
Confirm that the invite has been accepted in the owner account settings/grant user list.
