I have an Arlo Ultra 2. While charging it shows a power plug rather than a battery in settings. It doesn't charge. Does anyone know what this means and can it be corrected?

It means the camera doesn't think there is a battery installed.

Either the battery has failed, or something in the camera hardware has failed.

Maybe start by cleaning the contacts - on the outside housing, but also the inside contacts on the battery and in the housing.  Might not help, but free to try.
