Have recently added a Ultra 2 camera to my older style VMB4000 - worked perfectly until my subscription ran out. I can still view live feed, still see it on my network, but none of the recordings are saved to my base station.

Arlo website said this issue has been resolved - it hasn't fixed my issue yet.

Are you aware that when using the VMB4000 Base you need to eject the USB device to view the recordings on a pc?

Just checking.

Yes, Arlo provide 7 days storage for clips captured, which is what I use. All other cameras are fine, display, and i can download content. The Ultra 2 worked fine until the subscription ran out, have tried removing and reattaching, and still nothing - found the note from Arlo on their website, and crossed my fingered that it had been resolved.... alas - no. Unfortunately there is no way of contacting anyone at Arlo to find out what steps I should take next - hoped someone else had figured it out......or that Arlo might be monitoring this feed and reach out.

It has been mentioned here that arlo customer support does not monitor the forum.

This is a user forum where exchange of ideas etc are encouraged. Anyway that said mostly problem issues get posted.

The forum is managed by arlo moderators @JamesC or @ShayneS who you can private message for assistance.

FWIW, the most economical approach is to purchase a single camera subscription for the ultra to restore your cloud library recordings.

If subscription is not your cup of tea you could consider adding a VMB4540 or VMB5000 Base station to give you direct access to the backup recordings from the mobile app only. Read carefully the restrictions detailed.

Arlo provides that for older cameras, but stopped offering that with the Ultra (and all cameras launched after the Ultra) back in 2018.

That's the bit I was missing........ I assumed that new cameras would work with the base station in the same way as the older cameras - i.e. without a subscription. The answer is that they do work with the older base stations, but require a subscription to work...... not what I thought I was signing up for unfortunately. Thanks for the info - will now reluctantly pay for 2 x subscriptions until I replace both VMB4000 systems I have.

Poor strategy approach by arlo, would be nice to get something at least after forking out initially. Maybe three days cloud would be a good compromise.

FWIW, I agree that providing some cloud storage would have been a better choice.  Even one day of storage is enough to see what triggered the motion detection.
