After paying for support so that I could talk with a live person rather than a mindless bot, I explained that I had tried to add PRO 5 cameras to my existing cameras but ended up returning them as it was impossilbe to get them hooked up.   Arlo continue to give a trial subscriptions for PRO5 which I didn't use. When it ran out, they removed my 7 day free videos.  I paid for support today for them  to tell me that they no longer have support (which is what I paid for the subscription for) for the older cameras so they could not help me with the 7 day free videos.  But stangely enough they videos for the last 7 days re-appeared when I bought the subscription.   I call this highway robbery.  And will not spend any more money on a company

The 7-day free storage for the legacy cameras has always been limited to accounts with 5 or fewer unsubscribed cameras in the account.

I am thinking that when you added the Pro 5 cameras, you ended up with more than 5 unsubscribed cameras.

Then when the trial ended, you lost the free storage because you exceeded the limit for unsubscribed cameras.

When you re-subscribed to get support, you dropped below the limit, so the recordings resumed.

Note there is a workaround/hack you can use.  If you move the Pro 5s cameras to a second account, you will get the free storage in the original one.  Then you can share the old cameras to the second account using the "Friend' feature.  Then you will see the 7-day cloud recordings in the second account (and use direct access to local storage to see the Pro 5s videos if you have a VMB4540 or VMB5000 smarthub).
