Smart notifications question

Just purchased a Arlo Pro 2 4 camera system and trying the 30-day free trial of Smart Notifications. I have setup each camera for what type of notifications I don't want to receive and that seems to be working. However, I'm curious though I get no notifcation it still records video in some cases up to 5 minutes, is this normal?

It is designed to save the recordings, it is just supressing the notifications.

 

The classification isn't perfect, so saving all the recordings is a good thing.
