Hi, I have granted access to my wife by sending an invite which been received and verified successfully and I have installed the Arlo Secure app on her phone and successfully logged in.

However, on her iPhone 14 the Arlo app doesn't show up in location services. I have tried offloading, deleting and reinstalling the app many times with many restarts of the phone but whatever I do the app doesn't show in location services for me to enable. The phone is a new iPhone 14 running iOS 17.6.1 . Any suggestions or guidance would be most welcome. Please assume I know nothing, I'll not be offended by what might be rather obvious. Thanks!

    Thanks for all the info

Hi, That sounds hopeful. My wife is currently away until later today so I'll try it then and report back.

Many thanks

Trying to figure out how to get location services for geofencing arm/disarm to work on my wife's phone again. I am the account holder and she is invited. She can see cameras, library, set the mode, etc.....but it will not work for geofencing. I went to Settings, Privacy & Security, Location Services - an Arlo Secure is NOT there. Uninstalled, reinstalled, uninstalled, reboot, reinstalled, removed her invite, added her invite, reboot, uninstall, reinstall, etc etc etc....the Arlo Secure never asks to allow location for the Arlo Secure app. Her geofencing works for everything else. Our system is in HomeKit.

Is there any way to get the Arlo Secure app to request location access again? She works from home and I only do a few days a week, so the cameras go bonkers after I leave those days. Feel like this worked fine up until the latest update.

Both iPhone 15 Pro, iOS 17.6.1 (no Beta), Arlo Secure 4.19 (8201)

DITTO going through the samething and it’s either had something to do with the IOS update or the Arlo App update because mine started the samething.   I have 2 threads about Geofencing not working I’m steady working on it so I finally figured out my Geofencing is working right BUT Wife and Sister In Law not at all.
BUT if you deleted the account and reinvited them and it hasn’t changed anything then that probably not going to work for me either.   So I just looked at my wife and the location is there and it is selected always on.    So I don’t have a clue what to do next I’m at a loss.

I have the same problem. I haven't been able to get my wife's phone location enabled since the last update. Instead, I logged her out of the Arlo app and logged in with my user information. I was then able to select the phone (her phone) for geofencing. It has been working so far but only with my login on her phone. When I logged out and she logged back in on her phone, Arlo went to home mode (disarmed) while she was at home but as soon as she left the area, the system armed (as it should) but it stayed armed even after she returned to the geofenced area. I had to log back in on her phone to get the system working again. Until there is a fix, I'll stay logged in on her phone.

So.   Yes I absolutely Believe that the last update is causing the problem.  Because if everything was working like a champ before the update then that is the common denominator.

Until the Arlo Secure App shows under Settings, Privacy & Security, Location Services.....geofencing will never work. At least on the iPhone. Logging in as myself on my wife's phone won't add that permission. The app has to request it and then the phone will allow it.

The app devs should add something in the app to check for the correct permissions on the phone - I have other apps that use geofencing that have that. If there is an issue, it will check and then request the permissions it needs and adds them as needed.

The latest update fixed my issue everything is back to normal for me.  Finally.

Do you have any shared users on your system? My wife's phone still does not trigger geofencing. Uninstalled, reboot, reinstall of the 5.0 release on iPhone....still not showing up with location services on the phone or asking when doing a reinstall. Near as I can tell, if Arlo Secure does not show up in Location Services, geofencing will never work. Until that shows up, we are manually arming/disarming.

@m_valpreda does your app show library or feed also what does your wife's show?

My wife and I have iPhone 15s. Location services is not an Arlo app option when she is using Arlo on her phone. Oddly enough, when she logs out and I log in, I am get the location services option. Doesn’t make sense to me why I can log into Arlo on her phone and get location services but she can’t when she logs in.

I'm talking about location services on the phone - iPhone, Settings, Privacy & Security, Location Services. It is my understanding that Arlo Secure needs to show up in there in order for the phone to allow Arlo Secure to get location for geofencing. Without that permission, Arlo Secure has no location data and geofencing doesn't work.

The Arlo Secure app should check for that somewhere so if it is missing, ask for that permission again.

@BrookeNBoth of our Arlo Secure apps look the same when launched - Devices, Library, Mode, Settings. We both get notifications if the base station is armed and there is movement.

She just does not have Arlo Secure listed in the iPhone location services.

If you have library you using the older version of Arlo App.  It should be

Dashboard,Feed, emergency,Device and Routine at the bottom.

Both interfaces are supported by the current app.  So there is no "should be" for "Feed".

At some point in the future, everyone will end up migrated to Feed.  But that has not happened yet.

Was going to say I have the 5.0 release from 8/29/2024.

I still contend that geofencing will not work if Arlo Secure is not present in the location services. Until it shows up there, the phone is not feeding Arlo Secure any location data for geofencing. When it shows up there, I bet it will work.

I have the same problem here, has anyone managed to find a workaround/fix as yet for this?

Essentially on the iPhone the location permission is just not there so Geofencing will not work.

Thanks
