Arlo Version: 5.3.2_28775

Samsung Galaxy S22

Android 14 / One UI 6.1

When you click on a notification, the live feed always starts and not the recorded video. That wasn't the case before the update!

I read in the Google Play Store that others also have the problem.

Things don't seem to be getting any better in recent updates. Rather the opposite.
Reinstalling, clearing cache and whatever else you do over and over again didn't help.
And my wife with the same smartphone also has the problem.

Interesting.  Does it really show LIVE feed of the camera reported by the notification?

Fact is --- this NEVER happens to my Android app here and I'd love to see this feature!  For me, clicking the notification only brings up the app.  None of the cameras still start LIVE feed though.

Alternatively, if not showing LIVE feed of camera, at least I want to see the reported footage brought up and played for me.  But again, this is NOT happening.

Really strange.

If you tap the push notification on the "Lock Screen", the Arlp app opens and the live feed of the respective camera starts.

However, if you tap on the push notification on the "Home Screen", the video recording opens.

And that wasn't the case before. The same thing happens on my wife's smartphone. This must be due to the update.
I also read this phenomenon in the Play Store reviews.

It is supposed to play the recording if you have cloud storage.  If you don't have cloud storage, then it is supposed to livestream the camera.

I think the idea is to let you see what is going on more quickly.

If you click on the push notification, the recorded video should be played.
That's how it should be.

But:

If you click on the push notification on the lock screen, the camera will start.
That's how it is with me and my wife now.
Previously we could click on the push notification on the lock screen and the recorded video would play and not start the camera.

The problem for us is the notification on the lock screen.

Before it worked as it should. Push notification on the lock screen and home screen started the recorded video.

So:

Push Notification.
Tap on Notification on:
1.) Lock Screen starts the camera 2.) Home scree the video starts.

This is an important first question:

From the app, do you see "library" or "feed"?

Library.

So you are not too bad, while still at the "library" version of the app.

Fyi, one day if you are migrated by arlo to the "feed" version of the app, you will experience mine here:  it just brings up the app if you click the notification.  No playback, no live streaming.

Really?

That would be a step backwards!

Update received today.

No improvement!
It's starting to get annoying.
@Arlo: Why doesn't this work??

I would love to have someone from Arlo answer this!
