Another issue:

- open a locally stored video in landscape mode (not portrait and then turn to landscape - when selecting a video to play, you'll have to keep your phone in the landscape position) and you'll notice that it is automatically zoomed in.

How is it @ShayneS that new issues keep turning up? I really don't understand that. Do you guys write a new app each time it's released to show you're busy or something?

Not zoomed in here on Android. What phone, OS version and app version? Have you tried rebooting the phone and reinstalling the app?

This is utter madness. I shouldn't have to uninstall and install apps again to get what our supposed to do. I have apps from other vendors and they've been there for a long time without ever the need to reinstall them.

Anyway, reinstalling/rebooting the phone doesn't help. It's local storage that I'm talking about. And ultra cameras. Turn your phone round by 90 degrees and then select a clip from from the local storage to play *with your phone being in the landscape position already*.

Playing videos with the phone in the normal position and then turning the phone round by 90 degrees displays recordings normally.

That's what I had done but just did it again with the same results - your issue didn't happen.

If you're not going to do basic troubleshooting, there's little anyone can do to help.

Android 15 Samsung S21 Ultra 5G Arlo version 6.4.5_6040502

Same old nonsense. Updated to ver 6.4.5_6040502 and can't play videos half the time. Tap the play arrow, nothing happens in landscape. It's sketchy in portrait, too.  This is when viewing videos from the DEVICES tab in each camera (tap in unused space to launch the screen with camera at top and all it's videos listed below it).  The videos in the FEED tab seem to function correctly, though.

Arlo is the joke of the home security camera industry.

Also lag switching modes now - I have mine set to notify me of scheduled mode changes (to make sure the mode ACTUALLY changes since Arlo is iffy half the time).

When it changes mode, the home screen with the three modes displayed at top doesn't change to the newly activated mode right away (or if ever if you just keep looking at it) so I can't change the mode back to the previous mode unless I close the app and reopen. For example, I want to take dogs out exactly when there's a mode change standby to away, and I need to change back to standby so I can take dogs out without being recorded. I'll get the notice that it changed to away, but when I go to home screen to change back to standby before going out, the home screen displays standby active when its really away that's active (will see mode change notice in feed so away IS active) thus I can't do anything except close, wait, then open again so I can change the mode back to standby.

@secaz

Thanks for your feedback. Since this thread is focused on local stored recordings, could you please create a new thread for this specific symptom? I’ll take a look there.

Was just miscellaneous venting on the mystery mode changes.  Nothing will ever change, be fixed that's just the way Arlo is pointless to start a thread about anything.

I am unable to play any videos when they occur, will not autoplay (I really DON'T want them to autoplay if I want to watch a video I'll click play, which is a feature that's broken or removed long since whence), also if it does by some miracle play and I try to click pause it will switch to a different video that I can't watch anyway, and if it doesn't I can't click play won't do anything.   I have to close the app and wait, open the app and pray.  Or just save myself time and download the videos to my phone so I can watch them in some sane manner.

Just waiting for Arlo to start telling people to wipe their phones clean do a full OS reset and start with a clean phone and THEN install Arlo and try again.
