Until today I've been running the old version of the app. It never prompted me to update.

Now, I purchased a couple of Arlo essential cameras that are placed in another home and I have to be able to see these. These cameras have currently been set up by another account (family member, they are in another country) and have been shared with me (with Admin rights) via the app.

From what I saw when we set up, the family member has the new app experience (feed).

I accepted the invite, I cannot see the cameras or edit their settings. But I do get the notifications with the small preview of what the camera sees.

Now, I discovered that I can manually trigger an update to the new app experience trying to add a Pro camera (https://community.arlo.com/t5/Arlo-Secure/Arlo-secure-app-not-updating/m-p/2443653#M12540) but I get warned that my existing camera is not supported. It is an Arlo Go.

Not supported means that I won't be able to see anything from that camera? I just need the video feed nothing else.

I wanted to understand this before continuing.

As an option: is it possible for me to see the other 2 shared cameras without updating the app experience.

Is there a simple way to keep my existing camera and also see the (shared) other ones?

No ideal way if you need quick access when the cameras trigger.

You can see if you can switch accounts by logging out on your phone, and then log in using the other account credentials.  Note that the app supports both user interfaces.

Thank you Stephen.

Yep, I just realised after getting these new cameras that the new/old version of the app is tied to the user and people with legacy hardware were kept on the old app view.

I'll try two separate accounts at this stage. Not ideal though, but cheaper than replacing the Arlo Go.

Everyone is getting the new UI, regardless of legacy cameras. There's no difference in accounts, just UI. A new account will automatically get the new UI.
