The notifications on this app are useless. You can barely hear and it only dings once! I need a louder, longer notification to wake me should an intruder come at night. I am so disappointed in this ! People have been complaining about this for years and it’s still not fixed! I will never buy an Arlo product again and will warn everyone not to. This could be an easy fix Arlo! Cmon

At least on ANdroid, you can change the sound to your liking in the phone's settings for Arlo. Click on Notificationns and then on Notifications (the word) again. Scroll down to find the setting for the sound. I have changed a few extra sounds to increase the volume by using a sound editor app to be the loudness I desire without resorting to increasing the volume for all sounds.

iOS doesn't have a general facility to set notification sounds for third party apps.  You get plenty of built-in choices for Apple apps, but third party apps only have an on/off toggle in the Apple settings.

But Arlo has provided three notification options

  • "Default OS Tone"
  • "Vibrant"
  • "Marimba"

With "Feed", you configure these by pressing the profile icon in the upper left.  Then select "Notifications' and "Notification Tone".

Note the OS tone is set for all apps in Apple Settings -> Sounds and Haptics.  It defaults to "Rebound".

Vibrant and Marimba have about the same volume as the Reflection (default) ring tone.  It would be good if there was an option that was louder.

Yes the arlo app has sucked for years regarding the iOS notification.

App developers have to embed their own sound handler for iOS platform

.

Arlo was remiss in removing that feature years ago.
