Is the latest version of the Arlo Secure app for iOS dependent upon the iOS version?

I bought Essential outdoor cameras 2nd generation but couldn’t connect them to Smarthub or WiFi because my version of the app doesn’t show them. It shows only the Eesential cameras with the synch button at the base, and not the 2nd generation cameras with the synch button on top.

When I returned the cameras the salesperson suggested that my iPhone may be too old.

I have an iPhone 8 with iOS version 16.7.11 and Arlo Secure app version 6.2.3 (9800). Is the salesperson correct or not?

The sales person is wrong.  The app requires iOS 15 or newer.

What country are you in?

If you created the account in another county, please let us know that country also.

Thank you Stephen for confirming that I don’t need to update my iphone, yet.

I think I created my account in Australia. I now live in France and bought (and returned) the Arlo Essential outdoor 2nd generation cameras there.

You could try creating a second account, and see if the 2nd gen cameras show up in it.

OK, I shall try a second account.

But I remember now that I bought the Smarthub and first cameras in La Réunion, an overseas department of France.

What matters is the country in which the account was created.
