App notification gets delayed?

I am feeling something (new!) is not right with the ARLO app.

 

When there is mode change (by something else), dashboad colour changes almost immediately.  The notification also comes together.  Great.

 

Now what's different is that ONLY this notification can be delayed for as long as 20 minutes.

 

Say just now I had an (google) automation that changes the ARLO from STANDBY to ARM HOME, at 1:33pm.  And on my app's dashboard, it did change mode ARM HOME.

 

BUT --- the notification did not come, until 1:53pm.  And the notification message said "Arm Home activated .... at 01:33PM" !!

 

Do you guys experience something similar?  No a show stopper, I agree.

@Edinburgh_lad1 (and I think some others) have seen a similar lag with scheduling - the mode changing after the scheduled time.  I don't think the lag has been as long as 20 minutes - hopefully he will follow up.

 

In general, I have found the cloud to be rather sluggish recently.  Taking several seconds to show my cameras when I open the app, etc.

 

I think a 20 minute lag is a pretty big issue, especially if the cameras are being armed.

It's mode changes that are delayed for me for certain but I've not paid attention if notifications are delayed too. The afternoon and evening ones usually. The evening one (9pm) by 4 and 7 minutes (sometimes 1 minute or 3 minutes, but never 5, 6, 8 or 9 minutes or longer). (I have a full fibre connection with download of 150Mbps and upload of 30Mbps so nothing to do with the internet connection. I use a RPi to block adverts on my home network - so, theoretically, everything should be quicker -  but also had the issue without it, and regardless of DNS servers used like Cloudflare or Google.)

 

@jguerdat has a similar problem of mode changes being delayed and has had the issue for some time, too.

 

I had the same problem with a different SmartHub, so nothing to do with my equipment, and I now use my Pro 2 instead of Ultra, so nothing to do with my cameras.

 

Support on here are helpful in acknowledging but that's where it ends, I'm afraid. There are lots of issues I raised posts about and nothing.

So, let me be clear: you set up mode changes to be at certain hours and they just switch on at whatever times.

 

This company is a joke.
