I picked up a new ArloQ (non POE) last night on the way home from work.  I already have the Arlo and love it with the exception of replacing the batteries on a regular bases.

Everything worked out of the box with the exception of the built in speaker.  The mic works properly but there is no two way conversation.  What are your recommendations?

Test Methods:

Samsung Note 4 to ArloQ.

I can hear so I know the mic is working.  Two way communication is non-functional.

Laptop to ArloQ

I can hear so I know the mic is working. Two way communication is non-functional

Steps taken to remedy

I reset the ArloQ and set up everything again.  No luck.

I restarted the ArloQ via the Restart option in the application.

What else can I try?

Specifics:

Samsung Note 4 model N910A running 5.1.1.  It has all the latest security patch levels, baseband versions, kernel versions, build, etc.

Arlo app running on the Note 4 is version 2.1.2_13737

Camera hardware: VMC3040r6

Camera firmware: 1.8.0_5551

Laptop is running Windows 7.  Tried both Internet Explorer and Chrome.

Wireless Router: Asus RT-N66R. FirmWare: 3.0.0.4.380_3831

Wireless Router Speed:  Speedtest.Net: 13MS.  20meg Upload   65meg Download

You didn't mention it so I'm asking - did you verify that the speaker setting is on in Settings, My Devices, your camera?  It's right there with the mic switch.

Yes I've checked that.  Actually I've gone way beyond that.

In case there was a bug, I've tried:

Turned the Status Light OFF, Saved and retried.

Changed the Resolution, Saved and retried.

Changed the NightVision, Saved and retried.

Turned off the Microphone, Saved and retried.

Changed the Speaker to multiple postions including 0%, saved and retried.

Changed my Network as I have other SSID's for 2.4, 5g and Guest.  Saved and Retried.

Tried Safari:  The Arlo (webbased app) states that the browser is not support when I click on "Live"

Adobe Flash Player 22.0.0.209 is loaded.

FireFox on a Windows 7 box:  No speaker

FireFox on a Windows 10 (Citrix VDI): No speaker

FireFox on a Windows 8 box: No speaker.

FireFox on a Apple MacBook: No speaker

Thanks for the test... been thru the differnet browser at one time or another myself.

All I can say is most of the problems with playback has been flash related.... Will say this one has me stumped and is above my pay-grade 🙂

Needs the Netgear trouble ticket... defective?
