I have two Arlo Q cameras (one purchased in 2017 and the other in 2019).
The following applies to both cameras, armed and unarmed.
The 2019 has a solid blue light.
The 2017 has a blinking blue light,
Are those normal?

Here is a link explaining the different Arlo led lights on the cameras.

Thank you for the link.
It says: Slow blinking blue. The camera is connecting to a network.
It always does that although it works just like the one with the solid blue light as far as alerts go.
Any idea what is causing the blinking?

The solid blue light just means it has power. The blinking light lets you know that it is connecting to the WI-Fi or hub/basestation. It may be blinking because it is trying to stay connected to the base station/Wi-Fi. Due to position of this camera it may be farther away from the connection.

The Q cameras only connect to WiFi, not a base or hub. The above suggestion is correct, however, so try moving the camera closer to your router to see if that works.

If it is continuously going offline that may help to keep it online. If you do not see it offline and it is working fine then you can continue using it where it is.

If it is not connected, why does it work (pick up and send alerts)?
I am not trying to argue, just wanting to figure out what is goind on.
Thank you.

I am assuming it is connected. Are you getting any notifications about it being offline?

I do not get any notices.
Except for the blinking light, it works just like the other camera.
Thank you for your patience.

I'd still move the camera closer to your router for testing. It may be struggling to maintain the connection.
