Arlo Q, volume not working

Why does my volume not work?  It's at the highest setting, but it is so faint, I can't make anything out in the recordings.  The microphone function, however, works fine!

Model: VMC3040 | Arlo-Q HD with Audio

I'm embarrassed to say that the problem was user error.  The solution was to take the plastic film (from packaging) off of the camera unit resulting in the microphone actually being exposed.  Duh!!!!
