Arlo Q setup trouble. When pressing sync, stays amber. Tried rebooting, resetting, etc.

I already have an Arlo Q which works fine. I bought another and when pressing Sync to set up the light just stayed amber. Did nothing. Tried rebooting, resetting etc. and it never worked so I returned it for another. This one goes straight to the fast blink between blue and amber which is supposed to be firmware updating I guess but I never got it connected or anything it went straight that pattern. Anyone have any tips or tricks to getting this setup and connected? Arlo assistance was terrible.
