I know that the Arlo Q does not use a base station, but I wondered if it could work with a base station. I wanted the Arlo Q motion detection to ring an Arlo Chime. My understanding was the Arlo Chime needed to be associated with a base station in order to do something like this.

The Q will not link to a base unit....but only to a normal wifi router

There have been requests for years about allowing the Q cameras to interact with other Arlo devices with no action in sight. I don't know why since multiple wireless systems across multiple bases can now do this and have for a while now.
