Is the Arlo Q supposed to get a bit hot? The body is definitely warming up while plugged in.

Wind,

The Arlo Q when powered will be noticeably warm. This is not abnormal behavior.

Can I leave my arlo q plugged all the time ( 365 days a year - 24 hours a day )  ??    Even if the body of the arlo q is quite hot ??

Is it better, sometimes , to unplug the arlo q  ??

thanks

Warm yes... The Q's are warm to touch while running.

Mines been running for 5 months continuously , with no problem

Mine is warm all the time whether it's active or dearmed and camera off, just plugged in and on.its pretty warm at all times. Don't know if this is normal or not. Only had it a few days. Seems to work fine

Normal. It's actually continuously streaming. If you have the CVR option you'll see why.

Does anyone know if the Nest camera also gets this hot? Seems like a lot of electricity usage for such a little device.

I attached a USB power meter to my Q and found that it draws 0.4 amps at 5 volts, for a total of 2 watts.  I know it is hot to touch, but it does not draw very much electricity.
