does it take up extra battery to be life all the time?

Yes. The more you use live view the quicker the batteries will go flat.

i put cameras up for a house i am remodeling to watch my workers and if i don't go live.. my phone beeps every 3 seconds from motion, it is extreemly annoying

You can turn off the notification and log in from time to time to view the recordings.

Also the battery life specs are based on 300s of recordings per day. More than this will flatten your battery quicker.

You could also set record until movement stops up to 300s.
