Recently my windows 11 laptop quit streaming my ARLO cameras.  I've tried Chrome, Edge and Firefox, but nothing.  I don't get an error, other than after a minute or the screen says "An unexpected error occured".  Can anyone provide a solution to this?  Thank you.

Does it work using a phone app? Have you recently added or upgraded an Internet security software to your computer? Have you rebooted the computer as well as tried another one? You can use a mobile browser when set to use the desktop version of the site.

Yes, Streaming works on my phone and no I have not added/modified/updated my Laptops security.  I also have a Surface Pro using Windows 10 and it streams Arlo Cameras just fine.  It's only on my (newer) Windows 11 Laptop where I have this issue.  And, it doesn't matter what browser I use AND I have looked extensively at my security settings.  Finally, I can stream saved vidoeo (i.e. video clips my cameras have taken).  I just can't stream live video on my Windows 11 Laptop.

Haven't seen a response.  Does that mean you don't have any solution for me?  I noticed that if I access device settings that camera streaming works.  It appears that streaming just doesn't function when trying to stream from the Dashboard.

I have Norton Security installed and had the VPN option turned on.  Apparently ARLO does not like VPN's

I suppose that could be due to where the VPN server resides and/or how that server is configured for internet access. Others have used VPNs with no problem once the system has been set up.

Harold, What did you do to remedy the Windos 11 issue? I have the same problem and no one at ARLO can help me on this matter. Thx Bob

Have you tried clearing the web browsers cache?

Same issue here, I can access live video on my Samsung s23 Ultra. However on my PC, running windows 11 using chrome based browsers, such as chrome and Microsoft Edge, all my camera's just won't run live. Yet, if I use Firefox, everything works. So obviously its a chrome/ edge issue, in windows 11. Not good enough for Arlo to say that in my case Arlo 3 support is coming to an end. You guys produce the software, and should rectify the issue, with the browsers, by providing a software update, instead of washing your hand regarding the issue. Many of us have spent a substantial amount of money, to obtain, a security system with you, and you still gleefully, accept our subscription fees, every month. So sort the issue out, and provide your customers. and subscribers with a solution, via a software update.

Just checked, and I can livestream my Pro 2 cameras using Edge/Chrome on Windows 11.

Pro 3 Cameras in Edge, just buffer, yet battery level indicators are fine. Chrome the same

Firefox, I can actually manually get my cameras, to go live, but once I stop the stream, the images of each of my 5 cameras , are not updated. Arlo of android is fine - images update, and all camera's working as they should. So quite obviously its a browser issue, in Windows 11, and the issue was occurring  before 23H2 update, and got even worse after 23H2

This is when trying to livestream?

Obviously it is a PC issue of some kind - again, I am not seeing this on my own PC, so it must be something different with our setups.

  • Do you have internet security software running on the PC?
  • Is hardware acceleration enabled in Edge and Chrome?

Not a PC issue, 6 months ago, everything worked - the issue is with chrome based browsers. My tower is very powerful, and yes it was self built 18 months ago. No worries then, but issues with Arlo, in the last few months. Only thing that has changed is Windows 11 Pro updates, driver updates, and AMD graphics card updates, which occur bi monthly.

Also disabled Windows defender, and Malwarebytes pro, -no difference. Hardware acceleration, is enabled in Chrome and Edge - disabling each makes no difference. I suspect the problem is within edge://flags and chrome://flags, but then Firefox, will run live video, but doesn't retain the image on the browser, as they all did before, and android on my Samsung S23ultra android 14 still does.

Does the same occur if tested on another computer?

Can you play this video trailer in your browser?

Don't change the settings using the panel on the right.  Just click on the play icon in the video window.

If this doesn't play, then the issue is that your PC isn't able to play HEVC videos.
