Ok so I have a crappy uniden wireless 2 camera system ATM and need something that works better for me.  First thought was to pull lots of CAT6 cable and install a poe system but damn, thats a lot of work.  Then I saw the arklo pro.  Seems right but still not sure if it will work for me and don't want to go through the hassle of buying, setting up then trying to return.  So I thought I would turn to the people that allready are familure to the system and can give me thier opinion if its for me or not.

Because of our business its important to be able to monitor the camera's real time almost 24/7.  One of the big problems with the uniden system is it takes 10-20 seconds to get the iphone app going to see who is at the door and longer for the desktop app. (The small base station screen that comes with it is almost useless to make anything out) Also the desktop app times out every 10 min and you have to restart.  Ultimately I would like to have a 40" monitor hanging on the wall with 4 of the cameras constantly showing on it or at the least a ipad/android tablet or desktop computer set to never sleep showing the camera's.  Recording is secondary to me than real time monitoring.

Because of my requirments I am thinking I may be draining the batteries down very quickly.  I am not upposed to having a second set of batteries for all the cameras to make swapping them out quickly and once a month would not be a issue for me but if it got to be biweekly or less would become a nusiance.

Anyways hope for your opionion, I have my doubt but staring at the 1000' box of cat6 cable in my garage brings tears to my eyes.

ps. I have seen somewhere where someone will be producing a outdoor dc adaptor to power the units from 120V.  Throughts on that idea also.

Cheers everyone, Pete

Your need for 24/7 monitoring would point you to the Arlo Q cameras since they're powered. I'm not sure that you'd be satisfied, though, since no Arlo camera is really designed for 24/7 monitoring - they're for motion recording.  You could use the Q with live viewing for extended times but then you'd miss out on any automatic recordings, just manual ones.
