Other than the obvious physical differences, can anyone tell me why I would want to use one of these exterior camera mounts over the other? I like the height of the VMA4000 because the camera would not extend so far, but can't see any other differences. So far I've used only VMA1000's because at the time that was all that was available. Now I am planning to add more cameras and was wondering if the VMA4000 had any drawbacks over the VMA1000

Jimbo435,
Both mounts are designed for outdoor use and provide a secure mounting platform for your camera. The VMA1000 is a shorter mount allowing for more flexibility when mounting in areas where space may be limited.
