I now have 8 cameras and two base stations as we cheaper to buy the 4 pack full set than buy 4 individual new cameras. Any one got any good suggestions on how I could use the base? As you can add extra bases onto the same account, buy for what purpose? I was originally hoping I could use the second as a signal extender for some of my more remote cameras on low signal but each must must still be hard cabled into the router so would just sit next to the first one, so same distance range. Any ideas or suggestions as currently the second one is sitting in the box. Thanks

You're exactly right. You can use two base stations to increase the range and signal quality of your cameras. You do need ethernet connections for both base stations though so you might need to buy a wifi range extender or powerline ethernet for the second base to plug into

Or you could sell it. I'd buy it off you cheap as would many Original Arlo Wireless users who just want the USB recording feature

As mentioned, the only true way of extending coverage area is with a second base,

This base would have to be hardwired with ethernet cable ( from your router, good to 300ft ) or using a wifi extender product.

Then you sync the closest cameras to each base for the best signal.

A Plus or minus issue with two bases ( I like it , so don't ) is that whille all cameras appear in the web/app, the two bases are actually separate... In that each must be armed, have it's own schedule , etc.  ( I use it for multi schedules while spliting cameras like front / back, inside /outside , etc )
