TROUBLESHOOTING TIMED OUT

ON 5/21/207 I PURCHASED THE ARLO PRO VMS4430-100NAS HD CAMERA SYSTEM.

PLEASE TELL WHAT CAUSES THESE CAMERA TO "TIMED OUT" WHILE VIEWING "LIVE" OR "RECORDING"?

THEY HAVE BEEN "TIMING OUT" AT AROUND 5-10 MINUTES OF CONTINUOUS VIEWING "LIVE" WITH FULLY CHARGED BATTERY AND  ARLO'S POWERED USB CORD.

I WANT TO BE ABLE TO AT LEAST CAPTURE CONTINUOUSLY 1-7 DAYS FOOTAGE WITH A GOOD FULLY CHARGED BATTERY AND/OR ARLO POWERED USB CORD CONNECTED TO A 1-4 TB EXTERNAL HARD DRIVE.

THEN DELETE UNWANTED FOOTAGE LIKE A "COMPLETE WIRED RECORDING SECURITY CAMERA SYSTEM",  TO MAKE MORE ROOM FOR USEFUL FOOTAGE.

YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN?

It can be hard to say what caused the timeout.  I'd guess it has something to do with the connection to the server but can't be sure.  However, the wireless cameras do timeout to preserve battery life even if plugged in.  The usual time is 30 minutes unless something else breaks the connection.

You have a bigger problem, though, since you simply aren't going to record 24/7 locally without extra hardware and software.  Arlo cameras are all cloud-based and have limited options to record locally (SD card in the Q and Go cameras, USB drive on the Pro base).  These will only capture what is recorded based on motion detection, not a stream, just as the cloud does.  Live view stops at 30 minutes, recording stops at 2 minutes (or 5 minutes if motion continues).

If you're looking for 24/7 streaming surveillance, look for a wired system.

BTW, I just finished timing a live view on a Pro wireless camera that's powered and got the Timed Out message after 30 minutes, as expected.

As a PS... the only camera that comes close to what you want is the indoor Q camera WITH a CVR option.

It is still cloud based, but will record for the24/7 which you can review but not download without using a third party sofeware to screen capture same.

In honest, As mentioned, you'll prob need a wired system
