Hello - over the past 6 months my system will just go offline, a camera will lock up and the batteries will go from 80% to 20% over night.  I have tried every suggestion - bought an extender, reset to factory settings, etc etc.  Do I have a defective hub?  Right now I only have 3 original arlo pro cameras hooked up about 50 feet from the base and this is still happening.  Thanks

What LED status are you seeing on the base when it goes off-line?  https://kb.arlo.com/000039100/What-do-the-LEDs-on-my-Arlo-SmartHub-or-base-station-mean

The internet and power lights are on - camera connection light is out.
Also - batteries were 100% and today 85%

Possibilities I can think of are

  • the base wifi is somehow beginning to fail, causing the cameras to disconnect
  • something has changed on the connection path (creating wifi interference)
  • The power adapter for the base is starting to fail.

I'm thinking it's not the cameras, since all three started misbehaving at the same time

I suggest moving one of the camera much closer to the base station (ideally the one that goes off line most often), and see if it's behavior changes.

Thanks - I did that as well. Thinking I should replace the hub. Ok - May I buy a new hub from Arlo? Do you know?

You can  - they all should be compatible with your cameras.  https://kb.arlo.com/000062284/What-is-the-difference-between-each-Arlo-SmartHub-and-base-station  If you plan to get a new camera at some point soon, then a smarthub might be best option.  Note the VMB4500, VMB4540, and VMB5000 don't have the siren.

They are often out of stock though.

Thanks for all your assistance. Is there a phone number to call them and order a hub?

Unfortunately not.  They are also hard to find on shop.arlo.com.  The VMB5000 doesn't seem to show up there at all.

Here are a couple of links to two compatible bases:

https://www.arlo.com/en-us/accessories/VMB4500-100NAS.html

https://www.arlo.com/en-us/accessories/VMB4540-100NAS.html

Both out of stock.  Note both have the same price - if that's the case when you purchase, get the VMB4540.

If you google, you can find used bases - of course there is some risk that they won't work properly.
