Why has my Arlo camera stopped saving my recordings for 30 days and is now only saving the recordings for 3 days?

If you truly have a Pro (not a Pro 3 or newer) camera, the legacy plan only saves cloud recordings for 7 days, not 30 or 3. Make sure we're talking about the right camera by removing the battery and look for a label that has VMCxxxx and let us know what it says.

 

If you have a subscription, you can have 30 days' worth of recordings but most folks with the legacy cameras, such as the original Pro, just use the 7 day plan. Do you have any filters set in Library or need to try using the calendar icon at the top to choose different days?

The model is VMC2030. Up until mid December we had 30 days worth of recordings but now only 3 days

Ok, so you have an Essential Spotlight camera (VMC2030). That makes a big difference.

 

These cameras require a subscription to have cloud recordings. Have you checked your subscription status in Settings, Home, Plans? Your trial sub may have expired. However, that wouldn't explain 3 days' worth of recordings since without a sub you don't get ANY recordings. When in the Feed page, click on the calendar icon at the top to change days to verify you can/can't see older recordings.
