Currently have Pro VMC4030 cameras with VMB400r3 hub.  They have been working fine for ages and went offline a couple of days ago.  I tried a reset on the hub and needed a new ethernet cable.  This prompted a firmware update and I had to delete and re-add cameras to the hub (firmware is now up to date).

I got both cameras working and detecting Motion, but they are not detecting sound and the sound icon on both cameras is greyed out in the app.  I have audio settings turned on for both and Audio detection is turned on in Mode settings set to 4 for sensitivity.

Also, (for first time ever) have a paid subscription now (which not sure I need but thought I would get it in the event that the firmware update is now forcing subscription for certain features) and now have "Arlo Secure Multi-Camera" subscription.  Can someone please advise why I am not getting audio detection/notifications and why sound icon in app is greyed out? And how to fix this. Thank you.

Press the profile icon in the upper left.  Then select "Home" and "Smart Detection".  Your cameras should be listed there.

Select one of the cameras and scroll down to the bottom of the screen.  You should see "All Audio" there.  Make sure that is enabled.

- I have just enabled "all audio" and the camera is no longer greyed out! Will have someone on property test it later when they are nearby. Thank you!

There should have been no reason for the cameras to need to be deleted/re-added simply due to a base firmware update. I've never heard of that before. DId you reset (NOT power cycle/reboot) the base for some reason? ANd a subscription is not needed for simple audio detection.

I would remove 1 camera and re-add it normally to see if that fixes the issue. If not, let us know.

I tried to power down first, then reboot and it wasn't coming online. So, checked ethernet and just decided to try a new ethernet cable and that worked. That's when firmware update happened and app said no base detected so had to re-add it and then add the cameras. Also, I had the old verson of the app and the new version was pushed when I re-adde the base.

I now have the base and the cameras in the new app. Cameras detect motion with sound which is in my feed...so sound function is working...just not picking up audio detection.

Unfortunately, where the cameras are is not my home base property- so removing and re-adding cameras is not ideal.

I am baffled as to why everything worked fine on Wednesday and had been for ages...and the hub going offline caused this and then a new firmware push and now it does not. I read that my carmeras were EOL- so it would be great if someone could tell me if Arlo is reducing features to force upgrade.

They've said they are not doing that.  But they have said that some features might stop working over time.  In other words, future changes in their cloud servers might not be compatible with the EoL cameras.
