So having had no end of problems with my Arlo Pro system since purchase and I think finally arriving at a position with support whereby rather than replace my cameras with the next (date unknown) hardware release or with Arlo 2 given they are as yet not available in the UK, then Netgear are going to refund me the entire cost of my current system; its probably more likely they are because I'm a pain in the butt 😛
It does however now leave me open to looking at alternatives, but I do, despite it's flaws like the Idea of what Arlo can do, after all for the few times when it does work it works well. I'm also likely to be purchasing from the US. So really the question here is a little bit open ended, but also with an expectation of a response from Netgear personnel.
- Have Netgear fixed the fully acknowledged/documented manufacturing and software development defects in the Arlo Pro 2 that where present in the Arlo Pro HW8 revision? i.e. Pink Hue / Ticking Issues / Offline. I'm aware through support that there will be a new release of Arlo Pro hardware which resolves or addresses some of this, so I would expect that anything to be applied there has already been applied in Arlo Pro 2
- Are these cameras and base station operating on the same firmware revisions as Arlo Pro, have they been updated in anyway or do they use 'the same' versions.
It's quite important these are addressed as I don't want to put another $600+ of my money if I end up in the same position.
Thanks

There's no pink hue problem with the Arlo Pro, that was the Arlo HD cameras.
Not sure whether the firmwares will be the same
Reports are that the video is definitely sharper with the 1080 resolution but if you think 1080 means it's going to be blu-ray quality, you'll be disappointed.
Buying from the US, obviously you'll need a travel adapter for the plug but not sure if the power adapter is universal voltage 110V-240V. Also, you'll either have no warranty or will need to send things back to the US at your own cost so just be aware of that.

Thanks.
Just so you are aware, I had 'pink grass' for several days on my Arlo Pro's (safe to say, after a battery pull and reset-resync) it hasn't come back. so it's not been eradicated completely, but it's definitely still present in the new(er) version.
The reason why I'm so keen to get some (cameras of any type) is that security is important in my home right now. Netgear want me to return-refund my current cameras, so it leaves me with nothing. Sad to say, although I do not live in a poor/bad area, I live in a highly targeted area for vehicle theft of high end cars (Audi's, Jaguar, Focus RS etc), and several cars have been taken off drives in the last several months; a year ago a neighbour was broken in and a group of men had a knife to her throat. So you see, home security is big for me.
In this last 10 days alone I've caught two groups of youth's trying my front door and checking through the letterbox for Keys; OK I have an alarm, door sensor, floodlights etc, and some would say it's overboard, but the way me and my family are feeling at the moment It's still piece of mind. That plus £60,000/$80,000 of cars up the drive I (as are the police) are taking things seriously and the answers to my questions are more important than people in Netgear reaslise.
