Dear all

Let‘s start quick and dirty and you throw in your questions 😉

Former setup:
- Netgear C7000
- VMB4000 successful wired connection
—> all good

Setup now:
- added a Wifi Mesh Extender Netgear EX7000 to my C7000 (same SSID, password and so on)
- plugged in VMB4000 into the extender
—> VMB doesn‘t connect

Side notes:
- both 2.4 and 5 GHz connect wireless w/o problems
- notebook is connecting to the internet via ethernet w/o problems
- EX7000 detects a cable, but middle VMB LED stays out...

Any idea what I can do/ test or what the root cause is?

Since the system is down, you could easiy try a base reset and attempt to see if it fixes same

( hold in reset for about 10 sec till leds flash amber, let it reboot fully about 2 mins )

Thanks for the response.
Tried it yesterday but also didn‘t work.
But found 2 things:
1. though the base is not working plugged into the extender, it immediatly works on the host!
2. asking Uncle Google I found that there are again and again some connection problems with the extender. So digging deeper during the night I tested something else, that worked for others:
During the initial setup I have updated the extender‘s firmware to the most recent one (came out Sept 2018!). So I downgraded to the former firmware (july 2018) and it worked immediatly!

So the problem seems to be solved for now, but the new question would be what netgear changed that it‘s not working....
