Besides local storage and a siren, what other features will the new Arlo Pro base have over the old one? Will it be faster, more stable or any otheer performance features? If I do anything, it would be either just a Add On camera or upgrade to the Basic system with New base and one Arlo Pro camera then continue usung my existing wireless cameras. If there aren't any improved features in the base I would probably just add a camera.

With the new Pro base,( which will be sold separately ) the main features are

1) local record with cloud record

2) siren

3) backward compatible with older Arlo cams

4) faster processor, about 5 times as much internal memory

Where did you get that from? Spec says:

Arlo

500 Mhz MIPS 74 K processor
128 MB Flash, 128 MB RAM

Arlo Pro

900 MHz ARM processor
128 MB Flash, 128 MB RAM

Arlo Pro 2 - You will continue to have access to free 7-day storage even if they enter the EOL stage.

From ARLO pdf spec sheet;

And yes, I made a misake... its about 5x the flash mem and only 2x the RAM

EDIT:  As a PS ...its seems there is more than one data sheet on the Arlo base... I also see the higher mem listed.

I'll see if I can find out if and when it changed.( or an error )

Those specs are completely different to the ones on the knowledgebase where I got the ones I quoted. Having less Flash than RAM seems very suspect.

The specs in this link: https://community.netgear.com/t5/Arlo-Knowledge-Base/What-are-the-features-and-specifications-of-the... should be the correct specs. Where are you seeing the specs you are listening TomMac?

James, the link you give is for the PRO which I assumed was correct...

The problem is there are TWO different spec sheets for the older ARLO.... the PDFs from Netgear ( I have two ) I have vs the current ones listed in products.

Was trying to fiq out which one is accurate.

MY PDFs show the older base as;

• Processor & Memory:
- Freescale i.MX25
- 16MB Flash; 64MB RAM

Current PDF , under Products show as;

    • 500Mhz MIPS 74K Processor

    • 128MB Flash, 128MB RAM

Must be an old PDF. The knowlegebase base shows 128MB for both flash and RAM for both models. The Pro model gets a new processor; faster and different architecture.

The info I have is the same as what is posted above by ittroll. If I find out anything different, i'll post an update.
