What’s the difference between arm home and arm away? Also I noticed I can leave all my cameras turned on and put it on standby so they don’t keep tripping. Does that make the battery deplete faster than having the cameras off when not in use? And if so, what’s the sense in having standby? I’m not liking the new app at all.

Check the rules in the two modes.  Note they can be changed, so you can adjust the way the system behaves.

You can also change Standby if you like.

Standby (by default) is exactly the same as the "Disarmed" mode in the old app.  Power drain is of course less when the cameras are not streaming when motion is detected.

The main difference between disarmed and off is that the cameras can still be livestreamed when they are disarmed, but then cannot be livestreamed when they are off.  I don't know for sure how power use compares, but my guess is that it is substantially the same.
