New Arlo Pro System says firmware update needed but it doesn't do it.

I am installing my new Arlo Pro system for the first time.  My app says Firmware "update is available".  I touch"Update".  The green power button on the base station blinks for a while but my app still says "update is available."  What do I do now?

 

In the "Model" box above I am trying to type in VMB4000r3 which is what my ap says my base station model is but it will only accept VMB3000.

reboot the base with the power button...off-on

I did that but it didn't help.  Still says update is needed.

Try removing the base from Settings, My Devices and hold the reset button on the base until the LEDs flash amber. Add it again using the Add Device button and see what happens.

Firmware updates will typically automatically install overnight on their own with no user interaction. Are you still experiencing this issue today?
