Does the Netgear VMA4700-100UKS Outdoor Power Adapter for Arlo Pro actually charge the battery whilst in the camera or does it replace the battery entirely?

I've had a look at the description on the Arlo website and I'm none the wiser!

The reason for asking is two fold the camera will be in a difficult location and wil be difficult to remove the battery for recharging using the normal charger.  If the cable is to replace the battery and run the camera off a direct feed this presents another problem for me, in that the power supply is only on for specific time periods.

Ideally I need the cable to charge the battery whilst in the camera.

That adapter will run the camera and keep the battery fully charged as it's a dual voltage adapter.

If you used a standard 5v unit it could run the camera but would not charge the battery.

To be clear....  Will the VMA4700 run the camera without the battery installed?

Yes.  Any of the Arlo power supplies will run the camera without the battery installed.
