Inverting the camera does move the sensors so some repositioning may be necessary. Have you tried the Motion Detection Test to set it up properly? It may also be that it has nothing to do with being inverted and that you need to read the FAQs here on best positioning of the cameras.

Post screenshots for suggestions.
