What % should the MDT be set to in order to maximize motion efficiency?

That is something you will have to experiment with. 100% is the maximum sensitivity. If you find that you have no false triggers at that setting, leave it there. If you are getting false triggers, either lower the setting or try to determine what is causing it and try to reposition your camera to avoid sensing the motion.

Note that the Motion Detection Test simply gives you a number. It doesn't save globally since it shouldn't. Transfer that number to your modes as appropriate.
