Dear Arlo Support,
I am experiencing a persistent issue with the automation and scheduling functionality in the Arlo app, and I would appreciate your assistance.
I have set up two schedules:
- 08:30 (Standby mode on weekdays)
- 17:30 (Away mode every day)
Additionally, I have configured the modes correctly so that:
- Standby is triggered at 08:30
- Away is triggered at 17:30
However, the problem occurs when the system switches modes (either automatically or manually). When the system activates “Away,” the 08:30 schedule becomes deactivated (greyed out). As a result, the next day the system does not switch back to Standby at 08:30.
This means the schedule does not persist, and I have to manually re-enable it every time. This makes the automation unreliable for daily use.
From a user perspective, I would expect:
- Schedules to remain active regardless of mode changes
- Or at least not be disabled when another mode is triggered
Could you please confirm:
1. Whether this is intended behavior or a bug
2. If there is a way to ensure schedules remain active
3. If there is a recommended setup to achieve stable daily automation
I am using the latest version of the Arlo app on iPhone.
Thank you in advance for your help.
Best regards

This is happening because you didn't enable the schedule automations correctly.
Go into the "Standby" mode settings and then make sure that both schedule automations are enabled there. Then do the same for "Arm Away"
FWIW, I generally recommend scheduling "Arm Home" and "Standby" instead of "Arm Away". Then reserve use "Arm Away" for when you are on a trip and want the cameras armed 24x7 until you return. If you change the setup to work this way, you'd want the schedule automations enabled in "Arm Home" and "Standby", but disabled in "Arm Away".

Geofencing is available for both iOS and Android.
If you set it up, you want "Leave" enabled in all modes, and "Arrive" enabled only in "Arm Away" (assuming you make the change I suggested above).

Dear Arlo Support,
Just to clarify - this is a user-to-user forum, not Arlo Support. I don't work for Arlo.
