Is it possible to still register these devices: Arlo Pro, Arlo Q, Pro Base Station, Base station?

Greetings,

I was recently handed a bunch of Arlo components that had received very light use (probably less than 200 hours of being online) several years ago: 2 Arlo Base Stations (VMB3000), 1 Arlo Pro Base station (VMB4000), 6 Arlo Pro Cameras, 8 Arlo Cameras, 2 Arlo Q cameras.  I was asked to see if any of them still work.  The original accounts these devices were registered to have been lost.

In testing, I have found that the Arlo Pro base station (VMB4000) seemingly won't unregister from the lost account, and thus can't be detected.  Support can offer no help beyond asking me to factory reset the device.

The Arlo base stations (VMB3000) can be registered to a new account.  However, any of the cameras that I have can not be registered.  I can tell that they are syncing to the base station, but they are not being detected by the arlo web app.  Additionally, the web app will then tell me that the base station is offline afterwards.

The Arlo Qs can be configured, and I can tell that they're on my wireless network.  But again, the web app cannot detect them.

While it is possible that all of these devices somehow broke in the intervening period (despite almost no operational use) it seems more likely that there is some issue with the Arlo backend.  I had read recently about Arlo end of lifing many older cameras, but I understood from the statement that the equipment could still be used, they'd just be removing features.

To ask then, can any of these devices actually be registered to an account and used?  Would purchasing a newer base station allow for any of the cameras to be used?

My thanks for your help and my apologies for the trouble.

Well I am having same problem been an Arlo user since 2018. I have been all over the internet and amazon comments and basically the fact is arlo is dishonest. Even after you buy a new camera it will not send notifications after the trail period but if your fortunate that has a system that has VMB4000  you can go live for whats that worth..but do not delete the base station...i am with live chat right now...so we will see

The whole thing about monitoring is you are adding a third party to the mix, why do i need arlo to call the police when i can do that my self when i get the notice...other wise you could have ADT, Brinks  or ever you want to pay???? but the original idea is you could see what was happening on your property and take control your self...it could be  a deer, fox neighbors dog...well sorry about being long winded here

@minigendo any devices that are still under a previous owner will not be able to be used. You can send me a direct message with the serial numbers of the cameras and I can try to see if they are under a different account. However, I will not be able to take them off that account or provide any information regarding what account they are on. You send a dm by clicking on the envelope icon on the top right of the forum page.If you don't see it, then go into your profile settings and select preferences, then "Private Messenger." Then select "Turn on private messages" if it is turned off.

I have base station vmb3000 and 2 arlo pro cameras. I am the original owner. I thought I had deregistered them and deleted my account so I could gift them to my dad but now we can’t register them under the new account. Or view them under the new app

Have you already reset the cameras?

Pull the batteries from the cameras, wait about 10 seconds and then reinsert them.
For the basestation you will want to reset it this way https://kb.arlo.com/000062881/How-can-I-factory-reset-my-Arlo-SmartHub-or-Base-Station-Arlo-Secure-4...
