I just got my arlo pro 3 camera setup and connected my base to hard wire connection that has 30 Mbps down and 5 upload. The cameras live view wouldn't work well at all and it  intermittently would drop out or not connect at all. I had to connect the arlo base directly to my wifi router which is delivering 65 Mbps down and 5 up. Is this a common problem? I thought 30 down ans 5 up wouldn't be an issue.

30 down and 5 up should easily be enough. Perhaps it's the consistency of the speed?

When you connected directly to the router, did you move the base station? I was wondering if the problems you were having might have been due to the signal between the camera(s) and base station

PS..enough speed, Netgear recommends min of 1MBS upload

So when I directly connected to router I had to move it further away from cameras and this is only solution that works. When it was connected remotely it had a much better range to cameras but it didn't connect and run smoothly.

What do you mean by a hardwire connection? Is it possible to use a long Ethernet cable to move the base back to the preferred location? A WiFi or power line extender may also be useful.

Might be an interference issue?

You might be right

That's exactly what I was trying to use - a power line extender and that the part with the slower or bad connection. It was giving me 30mbps down and 5 up but it couldn't hold a good connection.

What's weird, I have my smartthings connected to the power line extender and it has no problems.

Smartthings doesn't require a constant speed connection. Any problems might not be perceivable as it may just be a delay of a second or so. Video streaming requires a reliable connection

Makes sense. Thanks. I assume its the quality of the connection the power line extender lacks. Bummer.
