I get 50+ notifications a day when cars drive by, and I have my activity zones set up for two small areas near the house, not near the street.  What needs to be done to stop the notifications "outside" my activity zones?  I think I have Arlo Pro.  I am not at home, so I cannot check.

On another note, can I change the sound of the notification from Arlo on my iPhone 14?  I have messed around in settings and can't seem to find a way to change it.

thanks!!

The activity zones will only work if you have a subscription plan for battery only camera or if you have external power plugged in.

If this has just started happening then check that the camera has a subscription attached or if externally powered,

that the camera battery icon shows green as you may have a charger issue.

This can be caused by the sun's strong IR being reflected by the cars. The flash is seen in the zones so is recorded even though there's no actual motion. Repositioning the camera to eliminate the street and to concentrate only on the real area of interest should help and lowering the motion sensitivity while still getting detections as you need should, also.

Actually you can check using the app.

Go into the support area, and select the camera.  Scroll down to the product id field.

If you have a Pro, it will have VMC4030.  The Pro 2 will have VMC4030P.

If you see something else, you can post it here and we can help.

GTK.

You could try deleting the activity zones, and then recreating them.  When you get home you might also want to look at the motion sensitivity.  You can find the lowest sensitivity that works for you using the motion detection test (moving around in the area of interest).  Then set the sensitivity in the camera rule(s) somewhat above that value.

If you have an Arlo Secure subscription, you can also disable the vehicle notifications (but not the recordings).

Thank you for the tips and things to try.  I have adjusted the camera angle down, it didn't help.  I still get cars setting it off, even on cloudy overcast days.  I have wiped the activity zones off and started fresh ones.
