How long are Arlo local storage videos saved?

With the basic service, it appears that my Arlo Pro erases videos saved both in the cloud and my local storage after 7 days. Am I missing something? Is it not possible to keep a longer backup on the local storage only?

Local storage on a USB drive attached to the Pro base remains intact. Only the cloud videos are gone.
