I am getting poor signal from two of my cameras. Is the signal a function of the wifi signal or is it coming from the base station, so that if I move the base station closer it will give a better signal to the cameras.

The cameras connect directly to the base station using a closed wifi network (not your home wifi network).

Moving the base closer to the cameras will result in a stronger signal.
