I put up a couple cameras Friday, and have a few more that need permanent mounting, all of them outdoors.
One camera is above the front door of my shop, and tilted to one side so that it also captures the garage door. The night vision produces reflection off of the building, so it's nearly useless to see what is going on at night. I will move to another location, but it will end up being right out in the full view to anyone that looks up.
Another camera was put as high as possible in a covered area at the other end of my shop. I get great vision of both the door and garage door at this end, and was very happy for the first 24 hours. Then Sunday, 3 teens showed up and decided to snoop around. They eventually found the camera at the back of the shop, tried to jump up and pull it down, and then picked up a 2x4 and hit it, knocking the battery out.
I have searched through this group, as well as the Google, and yet have found anything about guards or housings to put cameras in, to help secure or conceal them. I realize it can't be completely hidden, but surely there is something to keep from stealing an expensive camera. I'm considering a birdhouse at the front of the shop, and putting it in a tree directly in front of the door. But, the back of the shop is really going to be tough to hide, or keep from someone stealing. The awning at the back of the shop is just above the garage door, so it doesn't take much to look up, or jump up, and see/grab a camera.
The front and back doors to the house are going to be just as bad, the awning around those doors are going to make the camera easily seen, and easy to dissable. I'm looking for suggestions!

Another user sugested the wire frame they use to cover light bulbs
Also, either use a screw in mount or a short tether to the camera is on the magnetic ball mount
Ive also masked off the front and used matching spray paint to make the camera blend into background wall area
